The New England Vintage Film Society Inc. a MA non-profit 501c3, announces auditions for The Red Lamp , a turn of the century melodramatic comedy, exploring all the complications when three family members use one red lamp (which supposedly brings good luck!) as a signal. Alice communicates to her lover. Harold's alerts his hungry homeless friend he can come over for food. Aunt Matilda uses the lamp to invite her neighbor over for tea. Confusion reigns!
Seeking 3 Men and 3 Women.
Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script on June 16, 6-9 pm, at NewTV studios, 19-23 Needham St , off Easy St , between NTB and National Lumber.

Cast
Matilda Deering: An elderly spinster, spare of figure and free of seech. Dress elaborate and fussy. Wears a large over-trimmed hat. Dominates the household. Considers money necessary to respectability.
Harold Deering: A slim boy of 18, discontent with his narrow life. Manly instincts. Wears blue serge sack suit.
Alice Deering: A pretty girl of 17. Has spirit; means to marry the man of her choice. Wears a dark tailored suite in Act I, and a white evening dress in Act II.
Archie Clarke: A tall, good looking man of twenty five just starting a legal practice. Wears a dress suit, with ulster over it at entrance.
Bill Worth: A heavy set man of thirty five, rough and illiterate, Unshaven. Wears old pant and a faded coat ver a sweater. Has a red handkerchief around his neck.
Annie O'Shane: A bright Irish housemaid of thirty years. Wears cap and apron.
